Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri
This festival first began in 1703 when the daimyo (feudal lord) of Kishiwada Castle, Okabe Nagayasu, prayed to the Shinto gods for an abundant harvest (rice, wheat, bean, foxtail millet, barnyard millet) at Fushimi Inari-taisha in Kyoto.
The most exciting sight is Yarimawashi, when the danjiri turns at a corner without reducing its speed. These corners are filled with many spectators.
