Kusatsu Onsen
One of the three best hot springs in Japan. People have been visiting Kusatsu Onsen since the olden days, because it is well-known as a hot spring to “cure every illness.”
It appears in Studio Ghible movies directed by Hayao Miyazaki – the “Yumomi” performance (traditional method of cooling down hot spring water) appears in one scene of “Mononoke Hime” (Princess Mononoke), and this hot spring resort was also used as the acoustic location for “Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi” (Spirited Away).
