Okama: Autumn in Zao
The crater lake was named Okama due to its shape, which resembles a traditional Japanese cooking pot (kama). It is also known as “Goshikiko” (lake of five colors) because the surface of the water seems to change colors depending on the intensity and angle of sunlight. The contrast between the rough wall of the crater and the surface of the lake full of emerald-green water seems to create a mysterious atmosphere.
