Suga Shrine

Located at its current site since the early Edo period, Suga Shrine has been the general protector (sou-chinju) of the Yotsuya area.  It was originally an Inari Shrine, so that is also located in the precincts.

Suga-okami is the god of protection from various misfortunes and illnesses and is said to ward off evil spirits.  Inari-okami is originally the god of rice, but also the god of better fortune and business success.  When visiting, it is recommended that you pray to both shrines.
