This shrine is dedicated to the god Okuninushi, famous as the Shinto deity of marriage. The main shrine, a national treasure, was constructed in 1744 and has been renovated three times in the past. Since 2008, the “Heisei-era Renovations” have been taking place, the first time in 60 years.
